The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.
Before you paint though, prepping the walls or surface you’re painting is absolutely essential. You're going to need things like spackling, sandpaper, specialty glues, or steel wool to do prep work as well as tarps, plastic sheeting, painter’s tape, and more to make clean up easier. And, no matter what type of paint project you’re working on, we offer a wide range of rollers, brushes, and paint application tools to cover any surface. Westminster House Painting

Comment: Basement has been finished with new drywall. I need the entire basement walls and ceilings primed and painted. Trim work to be caulked, filled in and painted. It is not furnished and is 850 sq ft. I need the stairwell walls primed and painted, trim caulked. There is wood handrails and wood accent pieces that will need to be cut in around. I also need a main level additional stairwell re-painted. There is wood handrails and wood accent pieces that will need to be cut in around. I also have a small hallway upstairs that I would like an estimate on painting as well. Westminster House Painting
", and then paint it. He cleaned up after himself, spent time to touch up what was needed, and he completed a couple other smaller projects as well. I am very pleased. I am hiring him again to paint our barn next. He was punctual, professional, and did a nice job. I believe his prices are fair for the quality of work performed. I have confidence in him and will be recommending him to my neighbors."
O'Neil patches shallow holes and divots with Ready Patch because it dries fast, sands smooth, and stays flexible. Deep cracks and rotten spots are best repaired with two-step epoxies, such as those made by Advanced Repair Technology. (For a step-by-step instructions, see Repairing Rot with Epoxy.) The days of using polyester auto-body fillers on wood are over. "They cure too hard," says Portland, Oregon–based painting contractor Kathleen George. "They look good at first, but then they peel away." Westminster Home Painting

The other difficult part is getting a painting contractor to show up. While this generalization does not apply to every painter, you can rarely get a paint contractor to show up to look at the house and to later produce a written estimate. It's hardly the fault of the painting contractors; it is a combination of the contractors being smaller operations along with a high demand for their work. Westminster House Painting CO

Great experience working with ProBrush, from the initial walk through and estimate with Jesse, who was very thorough, knowledgeable and with reasonable pricing. Fransisco and Alejandro provided high quality work, were professional and courteous, and left my home just how they found it each evening! I had thought living in the midst of a 4 day project would be a huge headache, but they made it a pleasure, and I couldn't be happier with the results!Jeannette AlbusNovember 27, 2018 Westminster Home Painting
The team at Pro Brush was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and professional. I had a very large crack in my ceiling, and the repair work turned out amazing. The on-site team even cleaned my blinds before reinstalling them. You can see the in-process and after photos attached to my review. I highly recommend using Pro Brush, especially if you have repair work that needs to be done too.Jarrett CocharoSeptember 19, 2019

Just wondering. In the polybutylene story the Ask This Old House trailer is sitting in the driveway of the home in Virginia. Richard is there to emcee but a local company is hired to do the work, so Richard needs no tools. Does someone tow the empty trailer to these distant sites just to use it in the exterior shots? Or, do they haul the lighting and cameras and such cross country in it? Or, do they rent a trailer locally and just temporarily apply an AskTOH wrap for the cameras? Westminster House Painting CO
Being in the business for 25+ years I have had the privilege of working with thousands of clients. Although they all came from different circumstances and backgrounds they all had one common goal in mind. Every one of them wanted to be respected, receive top value for their money, and get the best possible paint job for their most prized possession, their house!
When the primer is dry, caulk all small joints (less than ¼-inch-wide) in the siding and trim. Most pros use siliconized acrylics—paint won't stick to straight silicones—but Guertin and O'Neil like the new, more expensive urethane acrylics for their greater flexibility and longevity. O'Neil stresses that it's shortsighted to skimp on caulk. "If the joint fails, you're back to square one." Guertin uses the lifetime rating as his quality guide. "I don't expect 35-year caulk will last 35 years, but it should last longer than a 15-year caulk." Westminster House Painting
Nothing is more frustrating that not being on the same page as your professional. During your in-home meeting, clarify your expectations of the job and have the painter set appropriate expectations on his or her end as well. If you want the painter to show up at an exact time every day, or if you need them to leave at a certain time, see how your schedule might impact the completion time. Additionally, ask the painter about their expectations for the job like requiring a staging area for supplies, needing to use the driveway, or having access to running water. Don't forget to ask about the clean up and disposal expectations and find out if they need access to your garbage receptacle or if they plan on leaving extra paint with you.
Painters should have a proper business license; this gives them access to wholesale pricing and lines of credit at a paint supply store. It's also important that your painter is bonded and insured. Bonding means that a third party company has reviewed the professional and has granted him or her a certain amount of surety bonding. The bond helps protect the homeowner from financial damage if the contractor refuses to complete work or doesn't pay subcontractors. Insurance protects both the painter and the homeowner in the event of an accident, injury or damage to the property. Ask to see all of these pieces of information and verify the dollar amounts.
